Corona-virus (COVID-19)

Stay Informed and Stay Healthy

At Columbia Physical Therapy Services, the health and safety of our patients and our employees is always our top priority.

In light of the ongoing Corona-virus (COVID-19) developments, we are committed to following updates and keeping our patients, team member and communities informed and safe. CPTS is monitoring all updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local health authorities. We are working alongside our hospital and medical provider partners to provide the best care and communication during this time. According to the CDC, the risk to the general population is low but we are using an overabundance of caution to protect the health and safety of our patients, staff and community.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

Successful completion of your plan of care is important to becoming a healthier and stronger you. Columbia Physical Therapy Services is open and continue to serve our patients and communities. For the safety of other patients and our team members, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment if you:

  • Have any symptoms of respiratory illness, including fever, cough or difficulty breathing.

  • Have been in contact with someone with known or suspected Corona-virus (COVID-19).

  • Have visited or been in close contact with anyone who has visited in the last 14 days countries/regions that the CDC declares high risk of infection spread.

OUR PRIORITY IS A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPY CARE:

Columbia Physical Therapy Services has instituted elevated protocols and procedures at our locations to ensure preventative measures are taken to provide a safe environment for our patients and community members to access physical therapy. All staff have been educated in these measures:

  • Screening of all patients prior to each visit

  • Continuous disinfection of all common areas, treatment rooms, gym spaces, bathrooms, door handles, equipment, counter-tops and electronic devices

  • Frequent hand washing and / or use of alcohol-based sanitizer

  • Cough and sneeze etiquette

  • Having alcohol-based sanitizer readily available to all patients throughout our clinics

  • Emphasis and encouragement of proper hand hygiene among our patients

  • Staff and team members are asked to stay home when ill

IF YOU FEEL SICK

The safety of staff and patients is our highest priority. COVID-19 is a virus that is believed to spread in similar ways as the common cold or flu, such as when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Symptoms include fever, cough and difficulty breathing. If you are a current patient and are experiencing any of these symptoms, we ask that you contact us by PHONE and reschedule your appointment. We are waiving any late cancellation fees for respiratory illness-related cancellations.

STAY INFORMED

The CDC has the most current information about the virus, including everything you need to know about how the virus spreads, how it’s treated, how to protect yourself, and what to do if you get sick. Stay on top of the latest by visiting the CDC website, which is being updated frequently.
